American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing the abuse  of animals. It is the oldest humane organization in the United States.  
 
The ASPCA works primarily with companion animal issues, such as pet care, equine or horse cruelty issues, and animal cruelty and neglect. Their programs and services include: a national poison control hotline; a shelter outreach program, a corporate partner program to promote animal-friendly products and services, and an anti-cruelty initiative to teach humane education and humane law enforcement practices across the United States. Additionally, the ASPCA provides relief services for the domestic animal victims of natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.

Buster, Flashback, Flame, Fernando and Flu are a group of trained cats acting in T.V. presentations. Under the care of their guardian and trainer, Miami-based Cuban Héctor Castañer, they are certified service therapy animals, visiting hospitals, rehab centers, nursing homes, and schools. They won the Therapy Animals of the Year 1997, a national award sponsored by Ralston Purina and Delta Society, www.deltasociety.org.

The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture is the governmental institution responsible for establishing the cultural policy of the government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The Institute was created under Act 89 of June 21, 1955 for the purpose of contributing to the conservation, promotion, enrichment and disclosure of the cultural values of Puerto Rico, and aiming towards the broadest and profoundest knowledge and appreciation of the same.

Puerto Rico cuenta con la orquesta sinfónica más importante y de mayor trascendencia de todo el Caribe. La historia de nuestra orquesta se remonta al año 1956, cuando el Maestro Pablo Casals vino por primera vez a Puerto Rico, lugar donde nació su madre, doña Pilar Defilló. El Maestro rápidamente se enamoró de nuestro terruño y albergó el sueño de crear una orquesta sinfónica.
